Brandi Fenton Memorial Park
Lloyd Construction worked with Pima County in a Construction Manager at Risk relationship to complete a new 57 acre park located in a the Binghampton Rural Historic Landscape district, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Work will include renovation of several historic homes on the property. The project was developed by a public-private partnership between Pima County and the Brandi Michelle Fenton Foundation, Inc. Extensive coordination was provided between donors to the foundation and the overall project. Lloyd coordinated with a road contractor who worked on the realignment of River Road, which bisects the park property. Both projects were built simultaneously.
City of Tucson Evidence Storage Facility
Lloyd Construction completed construction on a $10 million storage facility for the City of Tucson. Work included remodeling an existing 70,000 SF warehouse to accommodate high density motorized mobile storage systems. The complete interior of the existing structure was demolished, including all structural repairs, mechanical systems, and repair of 600 linear feet of under slab sewer line.
Construction included a crime evidence storage walk-in freezer and refrigerators both with mobile shelving, and a dry line fire system with pre-action. Both the freezer and refrigerators are alarmed and monitored for any variations in temperature in addition to the energy management system.
Small item evidence storage includes 10,000 SF of electronic mobile shelving over 17’ tall. Lloyd increased the floor slab as required in certain areas to accept the loading conditions of the mobile shelving. We also added an all rail system and topping slab to match heights on rails. This state of the art shelving system has all the latest programmable features.
Bulk and large item storage includes 11,550 SF of engineered pallet storage and includes security cameras, charging stations for forklifts, and computer desk areas.
The secured public lobby and police lobby features secured two-way passage lockers both large and small. Full bullet-resistant glass as well as a speak-easy system on the police side and intercoms on the public side are included.
The facility also includes customized offices spaces for police department crime labs such as photo labs and communications rooms. Conference rooms and a multi-media room are also included.
Special systems include a 300 SF telecommunications room with extensive lightning protection, City communication, DVR for 97 security cameras, a communications box for the police radio system, as well as all conduits and lighting protection for the police department antenna mast. The 97 security cameras that are linked to motion activated recording devices can be programmed to send signals to a monitored agency or simply record any activity.
Criminal Justice Building "G" Adult Detention Facility
Lloyd Construction worked with the Gila River Indian Community as a Construction Manager at Risk to complete the 37,000 SF Criminal Justice Building medium-security adult detention center. This facility is co-located with three other justice/government facilities also built by Lloyd Construction.
District 5 Elders Center
Lloyd Construction worked in a Construction Manager at Risk relationship with the Gila River Indian Community to complete a 12,600 SF Elders Center which provides a space for social interaction and community events and supports the social, physical, and spiritual needs of the elders in the area. Amenities include a wellness center, a full service kitchen with indoor and outdoor dining, a health clinic, a chapel, and quarters for 24-hour on-site EMT staff.
The Historic Depot
Lloyd Construction completed a major renovation of this historic train depot in Downtown Tucson which was brought back to life as The Historic Depot. The 1907 depot was acquired by the City to serve as the cornerstone of the revitalization of the eastern portion of downtown. The depot was returned to its Spanish Colonial Revival character acquired in a 1941 remodeling. Most of the 1941-era floor plan and interior spaces were restored or recreated.
Juvenile Detention Center & Regional Services Complex
Lloyd Construction worked with Cochise County in southeastern Arizona to build a new 11,000 square foot government regional services and an adjacent 16,000 square foot Juvenile Detention Facility which included a courtroom/office space component.
Juvenile Detention & Rehabilitation Center
Lloyd Construction worked with the Gila River Indian Community as a Construction Manager at Risk to complete a new 45,000 SF Juvenile Detention and Rehabilitation Center. This facility is co-located with three other justice/government facilities also built by Lloyd Construction.
MLK Apartments at Depot Plaza
Lloyd Construction is currently in the process of working as a Construction Manager at Risk for a new $30 million five-story apartment complex atop a two-story underground garage, that is adjacent to a remodel of the existing MLK Apartments, the Ronstadt Transit Center renovation, and the reconstruction of the 4th Avenue Underpass projects in downtown Tucson. We are coordinating with contractors on all three of the surrounding projects.
This project is pursuing LEED® Silver certification. Lloyd Construction’s two LEED® Accredited Professionals are coordinating with the architectural/engineering team to achieve this certification.
Morris Udall Park & Recreation Center
Lloyd Construction worked with the City of Tucson to complete this new 173-acre public park. The recreation center features classrooms, a weight training area, a fitness track, racquetball courts, a gymnasium, and locker rooms. Park amenities include a playground, horseshoe area, bocce court, amphitheatre, fitness track, lighted volleyball courts, multi-use sports fields, and a swimming pool.
Quincie Douglas Aquatic Center
Lloyd Construction worked with the City of Tucson in a Construction Manager at Risk relationship to build an outdoor swimming pool facility at Quincie Douglas Neighborhood Center. The pool features 25 foot long by 8 foot wide lap lanes, as well as a free play swimming area and a shallow water play area. One end will be a "zero entry". Other features include a handicapped lift, a splash slide and ladder, and locker rooms.
Sierra Vista Aquatic Center
Lloyd Construction worked with the City of Sierra Vista near the Arizona/Mexico border to complete this new 36,000 SF aquatic facility. The indoor waterpark and competition facility includes a 25-yard, eight-lane competition pool as well as a fan-shaped, beach-entry pool, with a submersible bulkhead between the two. In addition, there is a shipwreck-themed slide, a water umbrella, a handicapped accessible hydrotherapy pool, a kiddy pool, a waterslide tube that coils outside before dumping sliders into an indoor splash trough, and an outdoor diving pool.
Sahuarita Municipal Complex
Lloyd Construction worked in a Construction Manager at Risk relationship with the architect and Owner to build a new $18.75 million municipal complex for the fast-growing Town of Sahuarita south of Tucson. The complex includes a municipal office building, a court building, and a police station.
The new complex is expected to meet the town’s needs for the next decade. It includes a Town Hall, Police Station, and Courthouse, organized around a plaza. It will be the anchor for a new “Main Street” being developed by Rancho Sahuarita. The buildings were designed to be compatible with the themed community, yet provide a distinctive expresson for the Town’s first civic space.
Tribal Court Complex
Lloyd Construction worked as a Construction Manager at Risk to complete a new 32,000 square foot Tribal Court Complex. This facility is co-located with three other justice/government facilities also built by Lloyd Construction.

Tribal Governance Center
Lloyd Construction worked with the Gila River Indian Community as a Construction Manager at Risk to complete a new 115,000 SF government office building which houses the nation's governmental agencies. It includes a Tribal Council assembly area, and a circular Council Chambers. The floor plan includes three main wings of office space with a corridor connecting each wing to the central lobby space. This facility is co-located with three new justice facilities also built by Lloyd Construction.
Van Tran Operations & Maintenance Facility
Lloyd Construction worked with the City of Tucson to build this new vehicle maintenance facility and operations headquarters for Van Tran, the City's paratransit service. The vehicle maintenance facility features six bays. The building houses the administrative/operations headquarters and a childcare center. Special electrical and mechanical systems meet the differing needs of the administrative area and the maintenance facility.
West Side Police Substation
Lloyd Construction worked with the City of Tucson in a Construction Manager at Risk relationship to convert an existing building to accommodate the relocation of the Rillito Police Substation as well as part of the Field Support Division. The new facility totaled nearly 50,000 square feet.
